Motlalentoa is a Palliative Care Practitioner who has worked extensively in both the Public and Private Health Sectors. He started his healthcare career at Anglogold Health Services where he was a Meditech trainer with the main focus on Research on the Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs) and joined the Netcare group as a Project and Clinical Risk Manager using the Episode Treatment Groups (ETGs) to manage the costs within the Netcare Medical Scheme.

He has been a Chairman of the Netcare Medical Scheme for over ten years and managed different hospitals as the Hospital General Manager. He is the current CEO of the Association of Palliative Care Centres (APCC) which is South Africa’s leading national body for accreditation of palliative care providers and hospices.

The Association is responsible for ensuring quality, compassionate, and holistic support for people living with life-threatening or serious illnesses, as well as their families. It promotes excellence through training, accreditation, advocacy, and strategic support to member organisations across the country.
