Irene Moetsana-Moeng is an Information Technology and Cybersecurity executive with extensive experience across the Airline, Insurance industries and Public Sector. She is a self-driven professional with diverse technical proficiencies and a wide-ranging management and academic competencies.
She serves as Chairperson of Cybersecurity Response Committee whose primary objective is to coordinate cyber matters in the country and to ensure the implementation of the National Cybersecurity Policy Framework. She led the development of South Africa’s Cybercrime Bill and coordinated and managed the Global Action on Cybercrime capacity building project sponsored by Council of Europe which led to the successful training of members in the Criminal Justice System in South Africa.
Irene studied Mathematics and Computer Science at the National University of Lesotho (NUL), she holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Cape Town (UCT) and an MBA from the Wits Business School (WBS). She is a certified ISO/IEC 27032 Senior Lead Cybersecurity Manager. She holds a certificate in Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy from MIT.
